 FAQs

  • A person who provides physical and emotional support to pregnant people before, during and after childbirth.

  • You should have a doula present to reduce stress on yourself, your baby as well as your significant other. Doulas allow you to gain knowledge about birthing options, are advocates for birthing preferences and will provide you with the physical support needed for a smooth birthing experience.

  • You may request a doula as early as your first trimester (starting at 6 weeks) or as late as your third trimester (weeks 28 to 40). All pregnancies are unique and sometimes require the mom to be placed on bedrest. In this case, we recommend antepartum (pre-birth) doula services and provide families with emotional, physical and practical support, until the birth of the baby. Ultimately, you may request assistance at your discretion, and we will provide recommendations accordingly.

  • We welcome ALL individuals who are currently pregnant-regardless of age, religious preference, gender, or sexual preference.

  • Your care/birthing location is based solely on your preference. A few options include home birth, birthing centers, and hospitals. You may speak with your healthcare provider to ensure they don’t have any health concerns regarding you or your baby and plan ahead. A thing to keep in mind is that your doula is not considered a “medical professional” but will be a birthing assistant. What this means is: a doctor, certified nurse-midwife, certified professional midwife must be present for the birth of your baby, even if you choose a home birth or birthing center.

  • We offer payment plans, and accept Paypal, and Cash App ($Aosdoulallc).
